Top Ten Reasons to have a ModernAuthorize account.
Recurring Billing
ModernAuthorize lets you bill the way you want. For services such as webhosting and domain registration, there has to be a method to bill your customers in a recurring fashion. ModernAuthorize, used in conjunction with Modernbill, will permit you to set up your recurring billing in any method you choose. All of the third-party gateways supported by Modernbill have a service that is generically refered to as "subscription billing." Subcription billing essentially calls upon the customer to pre-authorize the future payment of a sum certain. This is far different than recurring billing as you can only charge the agreed upon price. This problem will be more fully discussed in Price Changes.
The larger problem with subscription billing is that your customers can cancel it without your knowledge or permission and still take your valuable services from you. There is nothing to protect the vendor from impulsive cancellations. Most vendors would prefer the oppurtunity to rehabilate a wayward customer and to solve the customer's problem rather than let them go. With subscription billing, you lose this control.
Finally, if you are using Modernbill Version 4.0.2 or older, your ModernBill does not support subscription billing for 2checkout, Paysystems, and Paypal. This functionality is available in Version 4.1.0 and newer. In the case of 2checkout, even this integration will not be satisfying. It requires duplicate package entries at 2checkout and in Modernbill, effectively eliminating any variable bills.
